Attorney Profiles
Jason C. Brown
Prior to founding the Brown Law Offices, P.A. Jason clerked for Timothy R. Bloomquist, chief judge of Minnesota's Tenth Judicial District, and practiced with one of Minnesota's most respected personal injury lawyers, Fred Pritzker. He has litigated and tried a wide variety of matters, ranging from divorce and personal injury to civil commitment and criminal matters. Many of these cases received significant media attention, both locally and nationally.
He enjoys sharing his knowledge with other lawyers by lecturing at continuing legal education seminars. He has also written a number of published articles for various legal journals. Jason is one of a handful of attorneys who have been elected to serve as the chairperson of the family law section of the Minnesota Trial Lawyer's Association and is a former adjunct professor of divorce and family law at North Hennepin Community College. Jason is a guest family law blogger with the Minnesota Lawyer newspaper, founder and publisher of the Minnesota Family Law Blog and hosts The Family Law Show.
Jason graduated magna cum laude from Minnesota State University Mankato and earned his Juris Doctorate, with honors, from the William Mitchell College of Law. During law school, Jason served as a published staff writer and associate editor of the law review and as a member, and later coach, of William Mitchell's international moot court.
Cynthia J. Brown
Prior to founding the Brown Law Offices, Cynthia clerked for Timothy R. Bloomquist, chief judge of Minnesota's tenth judicial district. She also practiced with the Clark A. Joslin firm in Cambridge, Minnesota. Cynthia is the former prosecutor for the cities of Isanti and Braham, Minnesota. In the last decade, Cynthia has successfully represented hundreds of clients in family court throughout Minnesota, including divorce, paternity, domestic abuse and adoption cases. While Cynthia has been able to resolve most issues through settlement discussions, she has also taken many cases to trial. She takes a simple, no nonsense approach to handling divorce and family cases.
She graduated with honors from the University of South Dakota and received her Juris Doctorate from the William Mitchell College of Law. During law school, Cynthia worked as a criminal investigator with the Hennepin County Attorney's Office and handled divorce work for prison inmates through the Legal Assistance to Minnesota Prisoners program.
Cynthia founded the Amigos de Guatemala Foundation in 2007. She presently serves as a board member and president of the Foundation, which provides educational, health and financial resources to underprivileged Guatemalan citizens.
