# Utah Divorce Subpoena: Drug Testing Records | Brown Family Law

Sometimes, people take drugs. Sometimes, people take lots of drugs. Sometimes, that behavior leads to drug testing. Drug testing is a gold mine for divorce attorneys.

Now, usually, requesting drug testing records only becomes an issue if there has been a positive drug test in the past, whether at work or as part of drug testing imposed by a court. If testing has happened, though, requesting drug testing results is a vital step in preparing a thorough divorce case.

We often get asked why we subpoena drug testing records when the other person could simply give us the results. The reason is simple: you don’t want to rely on a druggy for evidence corroborating his or her drug use. Get it from the unbiased source.
