No Sex with the Soon-To-Be-Ex

Sex is a big part of life and a big part of marriage, as well it should be.

Without a healthy sex life, marriages die and die pretty quickly.

By all means, if you’re in a stable marriage, have lots of sex.

And if you’re getting divorce, please, refrain from engaging in physical congress.

But why?

The reason is pretty simple: nothing, and I mean nothing, will make things more awkward during a divorce than having sex and one person, invariably, thinking that means you’re getting back together.

When that person realizes you won’t, in fact, be getting back together, there are feelings of serious betrayal, which makes the whole divorce process that much messier.

You want to make things simpler and less complicated during divorce because that’s how you reach a resolution that works for everyone and the kids.

Messing up everyone’s emotions and muddying the water with sex is not how you keep things uncomplicated.

So, if you’re getting divorced and you know you’re getting divorced, don’t have sex with your soon-to-be-ex.

Take a cold shower or whatever you need to do. Just stay away.
